Eggs/pexels.comI surely do not love kitchen stuff, and cooking has never been my cup of coffee. I spent my entire college life focussing on education and did little when it came to relationships. One day I got an invite to a social event by a guy who was my next-door neighbour, but I declined. The reason that I gave was that I wanted to focus on my studies. The laughter that followed was still fresh in my mind. The people with him asked me if I wanted to go to another university. The comment was sarcastic though deep inside, knew that it was a way of telling them I wasn’t interested.

Fast forward to 2018, when I moved out of the hostel and lived outside the campus. After a tiresome day, I decided to surprise myself and cook something delicious. A quick thought came to me and came up with the recipe very fast. These are my ingredients and recipe:

  • Rice
  • 2 eggs
  • water
  • salt
  • cooking oil

Recipe

  1. Take three cups of water and heat to boiling point in a sufuria.
  2. Add a teaspoonful of cooking oil, then add a pinch of salt to the boiling water.
  3. Add one and a half cups of rice to the mixture and let it cook for 10 minutes under a regulated temperature.
  4. Then break the two eggs and mix them properly, before adding the egg mixture to the rice.
  5. Boil for the next 10 minutes and serve with beef stew, beans or cowpeas.

I did try the recipe and slept without any meal on that day. It was a menu that got messed up. The comrade slept hungry but knew what could never work.
