Simping Men
Share

What comes to your mind when you hear someone talk of simping? Yeah, I get you. Your mind races to the relationships, and how men or women make fools of themselves as they simp in relationships. That is a word that has gained popularity in the recent past, with many masculine teachers claiming that they are trying to bring back masculinity to men. That is not a bad thing though.

Have you ever asked yourself whether you are a simp or not? You might not be a simp in one situation, but a simp in another situation. From my interactions, I have come to realise that those who shout the loudest are the ones who simp a lot. They may not simp before women but when they are in the company of rich men, or their bosses, they are the best Simpsons.

Point Missed

A post by a Facebook user going by the name unplugged Alpha warns men against simping. He goes ahead and claims that simping takes away MASCULINE METTLE from men, and erodes that which makes the society conducive. I agree with him, but when these “masculinity” teachers focus on simping in relationships, they miss the point.

Simping for Rich Men and Bosses

A few weeks ago, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua took part in a race. Unfortunately, he tripped and fell soon after he started the race. Surprisingly a guy who was next to him, supposedly his bodyguard, also fell. It is funny, right? Yeah, I know it is. How do you fall because your boss tripped and fell? What crime have you done if you let him pick up his or her pieces and continue with the race? This situation i so evident in men, and most of them usually shout the loudest how they are not simps. But when they are in the company of rich men, they act like fools.

I have also seen viral videos trending on social on Simps. A guy kneels to propose to a lady but the lady just brushes them off. Ladies hate simps! Ladies hate marriage proposals. ladies love rough love. They enjoy being made to guess what’s next.

Types of Simping

Depending on the situation, simping can be classified into the folowing categories.

Relationship Simping involves spending a significant amount of money on someone in the hopes of gaining their attention or affection. In other cases, this is referred to as financial simping and is closely related to emotional simping. It is what the masculinity teachers are trying to have men deviate from.

Financial simping involves buying expensive gifts to gain favours from a lady or even your boss, but emotional simping is providing emotional support or validation to someone in excess, often at the expense of one’s emotional well-being. Emotional simping might involve constantly complimenting them, being overly available to listen to their problems, or showering them with praise.

Physical simping is when one goes out of his or her way to do favours or physical tasks for someone, often without being asked, in the hopes of gaining their favour or affection. This type could be done to bosses, rich men or people of the opposite gender. This could include running errands for them, doing their chores, and always being available to help.

Social Media simping. It’s rise is immense, and could include liking and sharing posts of a prominent person. I once did this, but outgrew it haha!

The worst kind of simping is academic simping without applying common sense. Imagine if you are continuously complimenting someone’s views even when, deep down, you disagree with them. What a dull life that must be!

How Can You Overcome Simping?

Build yourself by upskilling, and accumulating wealth. Be contented with the little you have, and don’t let anyone look down upon you.

Put your attention toward bettering yourself by devoting time and resources to your development, hobbies, and passions.

By associating with those that value and respect you for who you are, you can cultivate positive relationships. Establish mutual respect, trust, and equality as the foundation for your friendships and love relationships.
