Road Grading
Grading of a road in Kenya (Tsavo area) in the 1960’s. This was a way of managing corrugations—a significant issue on sandy roads. It was crucial to have the “tunnieboy” make sure the fallen tree followed the tractor in the proper direction.

Londiani Junction-Mau Summit Road
This is the road from Mausummit Junction going towards Londiani. Prior to “Kampi shawri yako” in 1961 – a wet year which followed one of the countries driest years EVER, i.e. 1960, which saw animals in game parks die.
Hydraulic Structures: Dam at Smith’s
The dam that supplied water for irrigation at Mr. Smith’s farm. That man standing there is the father to Hugh Smith.

The dam provided water used for irrigating the farm that produced green feed for dairy cows in February each year.
Londiani Junction
This is Londiani junction in 1960s, west towards kerisoi and Kericho. Currently, there are shops along this area nowadays. This is the exact spot that a grisly accident that took so many lives in 2023 occured.
